Exam 220-1101 Topic 2 Question 323 Discussion

Actual exam question for CompTIA's 220-1101 exam
Question #: 323
Topic #: 2
A technician is configuring a workstation to be used as a VM host. After installing the necessary software, the technician is unable to create any VMs. Which of the following actions should be performed?

Suggested Answer: C Vote an answer

In order to have a VM running on a system, the system needs to have hyperthreading and/or multicore processing.
Multithreading is a feature that allows CPUs the ability to run multiple instruction processes simultaneously by creating virtual cores that will typically run instruction threads in parallel. If VMs are unable to load, you will have to enable multithreading. This might look like enabling "HT" in the BIOS. In VM lingo, this is also known as hyperthreading. I've discussed this question with several IT professionals and CompTIA instructors, and we all agree on this answer.
